Product description
BALLAST LEAD SHOT
Ballast lead shot consists of small lead pellets. The product is also known as lead granules, but both terms refer to the same material. Among ballast types, lead shot is the most commonly used.
With an approximate diameter of 3 mm per pellet, lead shot is a very fine and easy-to-handle product. Thanks to its high density and bulk weight, it is perfectly suited for adding weight to various objects.
The lead shot is available in bags of 5 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg. In addition, we also offer lead shot in Big Bags for larger quantities.
Applications of Lead Shot
Lead shot is often used to stabilize or add ballast to boats, cranes, machinery, constructions, and bridges. It can also be used in combination with lead blocks to fill up any remaining space.
Lead has a high specific gravity. With lead shot (or lead granules), it is possible to achieve very precise weight distribution—accurate to the kilogram. In most cases, space is limited, making it important to maximize the weight within a small volume.
Because lead shot easily flows into small corners and gaps, it is highly suitable for hard-to-reach spaces. This makes it the perfect choice for improving weight distribution.
Product Characteristics of Lead Shot
Because of its fine size, lead shot (also known as lead granules) is available in 10 kg and 20 kg bags. Of course, we also supply the product in Big Bags.
Specific Weight
The bulk density of lead shot or lead granules is 6800 kg/m³. For smaller amounts, you can easily calculate with 6.8 kg per liter.
Looking for a higher density? Lead blocks are a perfect solution, with a density of 11.3 kg per liter.
Dimensions:
5 kg: 200 x 200 x 20 mm
10 kg: 330 x 190 x 20 mm
20 kg: 400 x 240 x 50 mm
The more lead shot you order, the more cost-effective it becomes.
