Steel Punchings
Steel punchings are essentially a waste product, released during various production processes in the Netherlands. ballast-products.com offers the best form of recycling for punchings: reuse. We ensure the steel punchings get a second life instead of ending up in the smelting furnace. This benefits not only the environment but also your wallet, as custom-made alternatives are significantly more expensive to produce.
Bulk Weight and Dimensions
The steel punchings we offer vary in diameter and thickness, so you can find the most suitable solution for every project. Steel has a lower specific gravity than lead, yet the bulk weight of 1 m³ of punchings is still 4.7 tons. This makes it an excellent material for significant weighting in limited space. Steel punchings are easy to pour, even in smaller areas. Their compact size makes them very practical to handle.
Steel Ballast Billets
In addition to fine punchings, we also offer coarse steel ballast billets. Weighing approximately 200 kilograms per meter, these billets provide substantial weight in a compact space. The steel billets can be poured loosely, but can also be welded onto, for example, a boat, anchor, sluice gate, or any other object. Steel is known for its excellent weldability without becoming brittle or hard. Our coarsely cut pallet-sized billets are available directly from stock.
Primer Coating Against Rust and Corrosion
Our steel ballast billets are supplied without a primer coating by default. This means they are not additionally protected against rust or corrosion. However, we can apply a primer treatment for a modest additional fee.
