Steel punchings are actually a waste product. This is released during various production processes within the Netherlands. Ballast-products.com offers the finest form of recycling for the punchings, namely reuse. We ensure that the steel punchings are given a second life, instead of ending up in the smelter. This not only benefits the environment, but also your wallet. This is because when they are custom-made, the production costs are many times higher.
The steel punchings you can purchase from us vary in diameter and thickness. Thus, you will find the most suitable solution for every project. Steel has a lower specific gravity than lead. Nevertheless, the bulk weight of 1m3 punchings is still 4.7 tons. This makes this metal very suitable for providing significant reinforcement, within a limited space. Steel punching are easy to pour, even in smaller spaces. The small size makes the punchings very manageable.
In addition to fine punchings, we also offer coarse steel ballast billets. Weighing approximately 200 kilograms per meter, these billets guarantee considerable weight gain in a limited space. It is possible to pour the steel billets loose. But you can also weld them to, for example, the boat, anchor, a lock gate or any other object. Steel is characterized by good weldability, without becoming hard or brittle. Our coarse cut pallet sizes are available from stock.
Steel ballast billets are supplied without a menie treatment as standard. This means that they are not additionally protected against rust and erosion. We can perform a menie treatment for you, at a modest additional cost.
